How to split the cost fairly
- Add up what the whole group shares: the stay, the big activity, decorations, the ride.
- Count per-person costs (dinner, tickets) once for every guest, the bride included, since she's eating too.
- Decide together, before anyone books, whether the group is covering the bride. If you are, divide by everyone except her.
- Keep personal costs personal: travel to the city, drinks you order yourself and souvenirs stay with each guest.
- Collect money before you book anything you can't cancel, and put the total in writing.
Example: Eight friends, and the group is covering the bride. A $1,400 house plus dinner at $50 a person ($400) is $1,800. Split 7 ways, that's $257.15 each, and the bride pays nothing.

Questions
How do you split bachelorette party costs fairly?
Add up everything the group shares, count per-person costs for every guest, then divide by the number of people paying. If the group is covering the bride, leave her out of the count so her share is spread across everyone else. Travel and drinks you order yourself stay with each person.
When should you start planning a bachelorette party?
About 12 weeks out. Ask the bride what she wants, build the guest list and poll dates first, lock the date and city by 10 weeks, and book where you're staying and the big activity by 7 weeks.
Is the bachelorette planner free?
Yes. The calculator works right on this page for any city, and the full planner is a free spreadsheet that opens in Google Sheets, Excel or Numbers.
